Stars GM is busy assembling a team that will compete in 2020/21.

So far the Stars have added Zdano Chara, Jacob Vorocek, Cam Fowler and Corey Crawford.
If the 2020/21 season started tomorrow, here is our starting line-up.

Stars will use their their remaining cap space (22 million) to fill in gaps via free agency.

The decision to compete in 2020 comes with a cost, as the Stars have no picks in the 2020 entry draft.

But the prospect cupboard is far from bare. Top prospects remain.

You've certainly been busy. Some great vets to coax your kids along. Of course, we don't have to worry about culture, but you could do worse than adding Staal, Carter and Crawford for a playoff push. The question will be whether you're in as good shape in 21-22.

Safe to assume you will probably avoid last year giving the top pick away barring some awful year in the sim. But ya big cash contracts to aging vets hopefully doesnt bite you in the ass too fast.

I actually believe the Stars should/could be in better shape for 21-22. Stars youth core should improve....Peterrsson, Tkachuk, Dahlin, Boqvist, Howden, Severson, Demko, A Nylander, B Lemieux all re-rate higher. If Hoglander, Denisenko and Morgan Barron make the NHL? Vorocek, Eric Staal, Jeff Carter, C Crawford, Barclay Goodrow, Reilly Smith maintain status quo. Cam Fowler, Mike Amadio get the ratings they deserve? Nicolas Roy, Nick Merkley find a home in the NHL. Then the Stars are better in 2021/22.....Maybe I rushed my urge to compete after years of losing? But I am happy where this team is headed...Time will tell. Appreciate the feedback....

Signing a few vets to short-term deals is a lot better than trading your kids for established players, I think you’ll be fine - and have more fun this season than last.

Stars are tight to the salary cap, that aside, I think this team will be competitive.

Certainly competitive - you should be in the mix for a playoff spot, at least on paper. Some heavy lifting in trades and especially UFA. Hopefully you left yourself with some wiggle room in future seasons, now the we're in a flat cap world for a little while...
