Star Players taking the night off?

Will the NHL ever go the NBA route and give star players nights off to rest or prevent risk of injury?

Here's 3 indicators that tell me the NHL eventually will:

1) The Olympics decision
2) Complaints of the game becoming overcoached
3) Injuries and fatigue playing major roles in who wins a playoff series
