Thanks for the heads up, but unless it's posted online I probably won't be able to get it.

I wonder if they are putting together their own retrospective, or airing the official one that was released on DVD? (Which is also on YouTube, whether legally or not. ;))

I've got the Bluray version of that official Stanley Cup Champions DVD. It has a running time of 120 minutes so Sportsnet might just be airing a condensed version of that which would suck as I would love to see some different footage. Sportsnet has been running a bunch of other SC Champions episodes for other seasons but I haven't needed a hockey fix bad enough to watch another team win it all.

Thanks for the heads up, but unless it's posted online I probably won't be able to get it.

If Sportsnet puts it on their site I'll post the link.

I wonder if this will pop up on NHLN...I hope so. I don't know whether TSN, SportsNet, or both wind up on NHLN-US, but I know we get some of that stuff here in the States, although sometimes it's later.

Pretty sure I saw the DVD on either NESN or NHLN recently, within the past 1-2 months....I forget how long it was, but I'm 99% sure it's the DVD because there's lots of player interviews, but no Marchand.

From 1970 on there were a number of years the Bruins should have won it all IMHO: 1971, 1974, 1979, 1990, 1991, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019. I forgot to add in 2013 at first as well.

Had the Bruins won seven of those nine, they would be tied with the Maple Leafs for second all-time behind Montreal. Personally, I would take 1990 and 2009 off this list - and add 2013. I really thought they were as good as the Blackhawks and if a couple of guys had stepped up just a little more, it would have been the Bruins in six.

Very good list, @bbfan419.

Thank you, there were other good years also like 1988, but the Gretzky Oilers were still a super star team at that point.

That’s the truth.

The Oilers dynasty with Gretzky at the helm is the best team I‘ve ever seen. The Bruins went 1-1-1 against them in ‘87-‘88, so I actually thought they had a fighting chance in the Final.

Seems like a lot of times there were dynasty like teams in the Bruins way 76-79 Canadiens, 80-83 Islanders, later on The Oilers and even the early 90's Penguins, in 1991 the Bruins led the Pens 2-0 then Pittsburgh started playing D as well and Neely got hurt, those things changed the whole series, otherwise the B's would have beaten the Stars in the finals that year.
