Newly acquired Matt Kessel takes the number 17 spot. While I don't know know much about him personally, it is gratifying to see a prospect do well, especially when he's one of the very few who is playing. I hope to see his progress continue so we may one day see another late round defenseman join the ranks.

Onto number 18.

Going with Dickinson. I'm really curious to see what he can do after adding all that weight. Could be the biggest riser in next years list. Great skater and got all the tools necessary to succeed. His biggest downside was his lack of size and strenght (he added more then 40 pounds after last season ended).

40 pounds!? What were his measurements/weight at draft compared to now?

Looking back in an article, I wasn't completely right: he added at least 45 pounds since the start of his draftseason.

At the start of his draftseason he measured at 5,9" and just a mere 124 lbs. When the season halted due to Covid he was at 145 lbs. At October 1st he measured 6,0" and 169 lbs, that is a gain of 24 lbs just from March to October. October is more than 3 months ago, he surely is somewhere in the 170's right now.

I still think Jake Walman develops into a top six guy. He looked fantastic in camp and really good in the scrimmages. I think he'll be a 6/7 guy throughout his career which you could throw on a second powerplay unit just for how good his shot is. Not going to be a world beater, but definitely can carve a respectable career.
