"That shit doesn't work" yet 3 of them are coming in the foreseeable future.

Already getting market saturation

Two things: which one is the NFL feeder league where the undrafted players go? XFL was looking into it but AFL might be interested too.

And #2, why did the AFL immediately start with 16 franchises? Given recent financial troubles and bankruptcy? why start big? Start small, and then grow big. They are starting off with a lot of franchises, immediately.

so a bunch of spring football leagues starting up means spring football is a success? don't think that's how it works. more like you have a bunch of guys with money who are starting these leagues up hoping one finally sticks

there's a reason why these leagues come and go and it mainly has to do with the fact that people aren't interested in watching a "minor" league. the USFL has the best shot at staying alive because they've got fox running the show and don't need to worry much about travel costs because they're using the hub model, but they'll most likely end up losing money too

USFL had great ratings for what it was and XFL 2.0 did great before the once in a century pandemic shut it down

Fox and ABC were dropping the XFL even before the pandemic, because of the ratings. this was explained multiple times.

These spring leagues, they depend more on tv than in stadium fans but the sound is nothing without a full stadiums. playing at 1/4 capacity doesn’t do much for tv viewing.

Something I’m wondering here is if guys are going to play in both leagues. Kyle Sloter is here in the XFL, and he played in the USFL last year, and then was on the Jaguars practice squad.

It may be possible there's no exclusivity rights from what I see. Perez played for NJ Generals last year. He plays for Vegas this year.

XFL ends around USFL starting time so USFL may take some talent. We'll see.

Sloter isn’t even the starter here, so these leagues will have different opportunities.

Opening game is strong so far. Arlington tried to extend their 1 pt lead in the red zone but was denied going for it on 4th down. Vegas took the ball down 1 and then threw a pick six. A tale of two halves, as Vegas was in control in the 1st half but in the 2nd half it has been all ARL.

Arlington could potentially win this with 2 pick sixes, and no offensive TD's.

It could be Rick Rude on both Raw and Nitro all over again, only in minor leagues with a lot less people watching
