Sportster's Vegas list: Likely Expansion Casualty

I was going to dump on some of the completely inexplicable players that would never be left unprotected...but really this is all that needs to be said about it. Peter Holland plays for the Arizona Coyotes.

He's not just property of the Arizona Coyotes, he played for them last night...as he has since early December.

That article was posted in November.

That's an awful list. No way some of these players will be unprotected.

I'd be happy with these as a starting-6!

Actually it's funny you mention that. Las Vegas has a window where they can sign UFA and RFA players before the expansion draft, which might be something this writer was aware of. I'm guessing he was, as there seem to be a few guys on that list who are pending UFA, but too good to be unprotected.

In the event Vegas plucks your free agent during this window, they will lose the chance to claim a player from your roster during the expansion draft. I bet this is going to happen at least once.
