I'm posting this as a follow-up to @overpass's outstanding work on special teams roles in the regular season.
Those familiar with overpass's thread will see that, in general, I'm posting less data than he did - a lot of the information that he included would need to be cobbled together from two or three sources. I may get around to doing that at some point - but I figured that some information is better than none.
Note that in all tables I'm using 50 games as a minimum sample size. Please keep in mind that this a really small amount of data, so odd or "flukey" results are going to be common.
An important note on consistency - unlike overpass who, I believe, takes injuries into account when calculating player utilization, I haven't.
Through the end of the 2017 playoffs, there 342 defensemen who reached the 50 game barrier, and 658 forwards.
