We should be good next season but Saginaw and Sarnia will be much improved next season. My guess is 80/95 points. We will be stacked down the middle and have good goaltending and defense. We have a lot of young wingers ready to step up into bigger roles. Biggest killer will be not being able to make trades to make a run. I see us moving McCann at the deadline to recoup a good chunk of what we lost at the deadline this year it who knows maybe we stand pat and see what happens next year. But no way we are buyers at the deadline next year.

That was a very sad way to end a great season, but we do have a solid returning cast to go along with a pretty good 2015 draft class, so I'm looking forward to next year, even though we won't have anything close to this years line up, but who knows, as trades can happen and others will step up. Thank You Greyhounds for giving us an incredible year of hockey in which we haven't had for awhile, so I Salute all of you for representing the Sault honorably and wearing that Greyhounds jersey with pride. We may not be moving on, but we're still #1, as this City, Team and its Fans Rock :yo: I hope everyone has a fantastic summer and see you at training camp :handclap:

Potential Hounds lineup next year as of now.

Up front we lose lots of scoring wingers but have lots of young up and comers to fill the void. Speers may play Center but looked so good with McCann and Senychyn during the world juniors on that line. 1st rounder Hawel should get opportunity to play in the top 9. Guertler should be back as an overager but if he's not Speers will surly play 2nd line Center. Really not a lot of spots at forward available maybe an import player goes into that mix with the departure of Tolchinsky

Blue line looks solid even with the departure of Nurse and DeAngelo. Ganly and Hore are likely good overage candidates and White, Mercier and Bouramman should be that much better next year and of course I am expecting big things from Hollowell next season. Should have a few young guys pushing for the number 7 spot.

Goaltending next season should be a huge strength and we may have the best goaltending tandem in the league next season.

I was snooping on the Battalion site and they offer some interesting ticket packages - like a snowbirds package for winter escapees, and several others. Hmmm...

With the Greyhounds losing 9 players can they be expected to match their win total next year?

I would be VERY surprised.....considering how many years it took to equal and surpass the previous record and who some of those intervening teams were manned by. Conversely, I'd be very surprised if we were near the bottom of the heap. But, in looking back, the 3 years we went to the Memorial Cup in the early 90's...twice as OHL champs and the third time s host city by wining the Super Series vs the Petes....our regular season records were(this was before OTL and SOL in the stats (W-L-T=total# of games) 42-21-3/41-19-6/and the year we WON the Memorial Cup 38-23-5.

Hey Richard,
thanks for the prospects list.
Just wondering, where do expect to see Sergei next year. I see him back next year as there is no way he makes Canes and imports cannot play in AHL until 21 years old.
Also, Do you not see Ganly trying out for AHL and ECHL as did Gudbranson thisn year.
Thanks
Chris

Any chance Halverson could be moved to give Raaymakers more ice time? The IceDogs will likely be looking for a solid non-OA goalie for a big run.

chriscoutu: Is that 21 year old import rule to the AHL something new? I've never heard of it.

You can cross Kyle Betts off. He's committed to Cornell.

Tolchinsky is like any other CHL player. He is eligible to play in the AHL next year so that's where he'll be next year.

First move I would make and it would be an even up trade for both teams because I feel both players need a change of scenery from there clubs because why wait to unload these guys at the trade deadline. Perhaps they can spark each team to the top of each western conference division. Here it is : jarred McCann for Robbie fabbri.
