No, it's more like a heavy sound. Could be a bass, though I'm not sure. It could almost be passed off as a Black Keys song, but I checked and it isn't them.

Nope, that's not it either. I'd try to describe it but literally the best I can do is na's and da's lmao. I know for a fact that the song (guitar riff) played before a faceoff in game 2 and it drove me insane lol.

This is the worst type of request on a message board I know lmao. Thanks for helping though!

I noticed that consol was not just playing rock music last game, which is a relief. It's like a time capsule back to 1986 with the music they play.

I swear I would give my left nut to have actual hockey organ music played again. A few arenas still have them, fewer actually play them more than a handful of times per game. So much better than the family friendly alt rock they use to try to pump the crowd up.

I've been wanting to know what song plays at other arena's before a face-off. I was at Game 2 and didn't hear it at the CEC.

It's semi folky sounding and semi EDM sounding. Killing me wanting to know.

At Jobing.Com Arena - Glendale Arizona they always play A/C D/C's "Are You Ready" before the opening face off. I'm a little confused as to what exactly your questions is, as different songs are played throughout the game at each face off. I was at the second playoff game at CEC vs. CBJ on Saturday and can only remember Black Sabbath "War Pigs" playing prior to the game, but don't think it went all the way to the first drop.

Anyway - was VERY impressed with the music selection at CEC, as was my son. I'm 51, he's 24 and both liked the intermittent organ music as well.

Had a great time, beautiful facility and racous crowd.

Yeah I was very pleased with the song selection for the most part. I've been to a few different arena's and I've heard stuff like Call Me Maybe playing before faceoff's and such and I was disgusted.

The song I'm referring to isn't anything like AC/DC or Black Sabbath. It's more of what you'd hear in a dance club in Vegas, but it has a folky mix in it.. Very hard to explain. I heard it while watching the Stars/Ducks game the other night I believe. It definitely wasn't played at the CEC. I don't think Pittsburgh has the market for that type of music.

I believe they (as well as some other arenas) play a bit of Metallica. This is the most played song:

Usually you will hear the first 10-20 seconds or so

They played a lot of Metallica at Console Saturday night.. Could very well have been one of their songs.
