I believe so. I think you have to post a set number of times first before you have the ability to start threads. If so, it is a good policy because it would stop automated accounts from spamming the boards.

unfortunately yes, there strict on new members and what they could do. I think you need to hit a minimum amounts as a member (think its like 20 or 30 days), and also 15 posts, before you get a bit more freedom

You will be able to do more after 30 days.

It is to help prevent bots or companies posing as members from posting links on the busier parts of the boards.

Yeah, you have to be around a while before you can create threads. Oh and welcome to the boards, enjoy your time here.
