Just not a fan of the player. He's got good tools but doesn't seem to do anything with it. He's got a good shot and good wheels but just is awful at knowing where to be

Funny names

Sakic stingy as always but a 5th rounder last year the scouts saw a bunch surely that they like. And basically a 5th for Soda is what I would of thought.

Plus a Brad Morrison replacement

Dickinson looks like a lifer AHL'er. Rolston is Brian Rolston's son and looks like an Ok prospect. His first year stat wise at ND was pretty underwhelming but he had good junior years.

Sounds like Rolston is a longshot with some tools. About the best return you could expect for Soderberg, imo.

Ryder Rolston is tge son of famed NHL star Brian Roston...als a long way from impacting like his dad did inan illustrious NHL career.

Ruder has very goid speed and will back check hard.....has a good shot.. but the hockey sense seems to be missing.

So athletic tools are there but lacking the ability to do more with thise tools.

Able they hope tbisxwill come with more experience as he matures?
He is only 19.

Awwww shucks I liked what Soderberg brought to the table too.

He snapped that puck back off the draw that led to a goal the other night too IIRC.

I concur with others, this feels like a 'thank you' trade for Soderberg. Remember, he signed with the team last minute after the Toews and Dach news, he knew he was going into a pretty bad situation and made the best out of it.

Got some long shots and minors depth and sent a good soldier on his way. Nothing to see here.

Just looked it up
Colorado traded up from 149 to 139 with Pitt to draft Ryder Rolston and gave them a 7th rounder as well...Chicago picked two spots later at 141 and took Isaak Phillips. Was Rolston on the Hawks radar at 141? Probably

Yup. But it's good to see Stan now has both guys in the org.
