I think, in every single series there been surprises
(i could use a Maple Leafs pun here, but... over used pun is over used pun and i think Leafs and their fans deserve better)

Stars?... wtf... 2 home games, 2 losses to Vegas
Rangers are struggling vs Capitals, yes they lead 2-zip but Rangers have not impressed me, they have not played well
Jets D and G, their strength's, been their weaknesses so far, i don't think WPG nor COL goes far at these playoffs
Canucks.. oh no...what ya doing? Nashville might be wanting more the W
Islanders been the better team in both games vs 'Canes, but personal errors has cost Isles 2 games
Oilers Oilers Oilers... every year, at some point you fail, this time the 1st round?, Kings recovered fast from game #1
Honestly.. i thought Panthers would destroy Tampa... 2 x 1 goal W's... not good enough for a long playoff run
Boston vs Toronto, surprising that Bruins have the lead? no, surprising how Leafs have played? yes and no,
surprising that Marchard been the most talked player in this series? no, - okay.. there's nothing surprising in this one

Stars - not that surprising, Vegas are the heavy favourites
Rangers - up 2-0 like you said, Caps did make the playoffs so they will put up a fight
Peg - Avs offense is ridonkulous, but Jets do need to shore up
Canucks - lost their goalie, series is no longer heavily favoured toward them
Canes - Isles choked game 2 but Canes are clutching up
Oilers - shaky goaltending makes every game a roller coaster
Bruins - not so surprising like you say, but no nylander def hurts the leafs

Isles were better than the Canes in game 2? Was there another game 2 the rest of us don't know about that you're referring to?

They got an earl 3-0 lead... yes... that was the first 25 minutes. There was another 35 that needed to be played as well. Take a look at the game stats and tell us again how the Isles played better... wtf

I don't think a lot of people are too surprised by that. The Panthers have a 2-0 series lead. Two home wins, two close games. A lot of people were expecting a close long series. And teams can get better as they go along in the playoffs. You don't necessarily have to be at your best in the first round.

When you think of it, of last years final four team, the three that made the playoffs are all up 2-0

Looking at sportsbook results for the playoffs thus far, they've been relatively unsurprising. Sportsbook results have improved in comparison to the regular season.

Not surprised by much other than how many goals have been scored in the COL/WPG series. Thought the Jets would have made it a tight checking defensive battle.

And I guess seeing Dallas down 0-2 is a bit surprising but maybe shouldn't have doubted that Vegas could turn on the switch immediately.

Lol... not to me. Like... not at all other than the fact that VKG leads DAL 2-0.

I figured WSH had no chance against NYR and NYI had no chance against CAR.

How were the Islanders the better team in game two? Do you have any idea what the shots were?

TOR/BOS has been more physical than I expected. It should be a long series... as is always the case when these teams meet.

TB/FLA hasn't been shocking, either. FLA is better than it was the last two times the teams met in the playoffs. So far the scores have been close and the team with home ice advantage has the series lead.

Not that Vegas sucks, but I'm surprised the Stars dropped two games at home to begin the series. A lot of people had them going far this year.

Not surprised the other WC series are tied at one win each. EDM didn't win the first two against LA in '22 or '23, either. COL can definitely beat WPG. Having Demko injured helps NSH against VAN.

I'd say the opposite. Vegas beating Dallas again isn't a surprise. Boston beating Toronto isn't either. Colorado being a much better team than Winnipeg shouldn't be a surprise to an intelligent hockey fan, and thats still a long series yet.

The only surprises are Vancouver all because they lost Demko, and LA coming outta Edmonton tied 1-1. Everything else has been as expected

I don’t find any of the results so far surprising. Maybe Vegas being up 2-0 as I had them winning in 7. But that could still happen.
The Islanders and Washington were huge underdogs in their series.

Between the Oiler's goaltending issues and the Kings being the Kings I don't know that it is THAT suprising that the series is 1-1.

I mean - in the first year the Kings had a 3-2 series lead going home to LA and the Oil had to beat them two straight. Last year the Kings were up 2-1 in the series and had a 3-0 lead in game 4 before they blew it. They've had us on the ropes both years. They are not the Capitals or the Islanders who can be swept aside lol.... and also anytime the Oilers have a modicum of success it goes to their heads immediately and they play with less focus and determination
