Anyone have any ideas on how barefoot skaters can reduce the funk from skates? I air them out after each wearing but it seams like Bauers new skates don't breath as well as the older models.

Wear socks? Ever try putting shoe powder in there too. But if those fail, gonna need to get them cleaned in one of those equipment cleaning machines like SaniSport I'm guessing. Try to stick it out in the sun too. Sunlight kills lotta bacteria.

I know you were saying barefoot...but maybe like socks along the lines of OxySocks or some Under Armour. Those are thin enough that shouldn't be a big deal...better than nothing.
I wear socks but I also spray the inside of my skates (and all my other gear) with Lysol when I'm done wearing them, then make sure they air out overnight if not longer.
