Mine as well join the frey... I think I've improved a lot since last time and I think I have a very solid team... of course we all think that. ;)

I think some of my guys got underrated last time too, so we'll see what happens this time.

ROSTER
T. Holmstrom - M. Sundin (co-captain) - D. Alfredsson (co-captain)
N. Hagman - M. Cammalleri - N. Bergfors
M. Straka - B. Holik - C. Clark (A)
F. Pisani - P. Kontiola - J. Roenick

N. Kronwall - M. Commodore
N. Schultz - D. Wideman
B. Salvador - K. Alzner

Extra: P. Ranger

E. Nabokov
__________

Prospects:
1. Alzner
2. Bergfors
3. Petrecki
4. Elliott

Not too concerned about a backup (Elliott could do it IMO), but I will draft one. ;)

Will comment on others later when I have time.

i dont know why paul ranger would be your 7th defenseman. Your second line needs to score or your going to have a hard time with your offense. Good D, no norris type defensemans yet but good solid team. loving the swedish top line.

Modin Horcoff(A) Hemsky
Sykora Koivu Knuble
Moreau Peca(C) _____
Frolik Halpern Fedotenko

Timonen(A) Kubina
Edler McLaren
De Vries Huskins

Brodeur
_____

Prospects:
C Patrik Berglund
LW Michael Frolik

Im confident enough that I do have the greatest depth in the forward positions, along with the best PKing in the draft.

Good team, Hemsky needs to be consistent and although you lack a true sniper, your playmakers will compensate. PK's are excellent and Brodeur makes your team in the top 10.

Your forwards are great, good mix of experience and youth
Your D are too offensive which might be bad, they may not be great defensively

Your goalies are good, good prospect in steve mason

My roster looks quite small by comparison. I've really only been here for like 2 picks in the main draft, and 4 in the prospect draft, though. Not too happy with it, to be honest, but meh, them's the breaks.

Dallas Stars

Heatley-Carter-Williams
Semin-Cogliano-Blake
Lisin-Brule-Sjostrom
Sterling-Niedermayer-Sillinger

Salo-Aucoin
Backman-Skrastins

Prospects:

Erik Cole - Anze Kopitar - Jere Lehtinen
Andrew Brunette - Brad Richards - Owen Nolan
Jay Pandolfo - Samuel Pahlsson - Mike Grier
Jordin Tootoo - Robert Lang - Steve Downie

Duncan Keith - Shaone Morrisonn
Kim Johnsson - Tom Poti
Drew Doughty - Chris Chelios

Rick DiPietro

Obviously, not the most exciting offensive team ever built, but an effective one IMO. My top-6 aren't flashy but each should be good for at least 20 goals. I know my team looks offensively-inept but they combined for 211 goals last year, including shortened years by Downie and Lehtinen and zero games by Doughty, which would have been pretty middle of the pack. The team's strength overall is defense, though. I think I've got unquestionably the best defensive/checking line in the draft with Pandolfo-Pahlsson-Grier. Downie and Tootoo will take a ton of penalties, but with those three and Lehtinen I should have a dominant PK to allow them to do just that. Defensemen are fairly young (although when you average in Chelios, not so much ;)) but all can skate and provide at least some offense, plus most of them are key PKers for their teams. DiPietro's not high elite, but definitely a #5-12 starter.

Modo.... that sucks that you didn't get to put your own team together.

Your forwards are a good group. Your top-six has some very good snipers in Heatley and Semin and a good goal-scoring center in Carter. Your bottom-six doesn't have much name value and are quite young, but there are some promising talents in Brule, Sjostrom, Lisin and Sterling.

On to your D, i am not a fan. Being a Vancouverite i can attest to Sami Salo's injury problems, he is solid in both ends when healthy, but that just doesn't happen very often. Aucoin is a solid puck-moving, two-way D-man, but Backman and Skrastins as a second pairing is kinda scary, especially when you have a youngin in Smith in net.

Overall, a middle of the pack team, with room for future improvement

Hans, your team is very solid in terms of size and depth. I just wish you had a better second line RW than Owen Nolan!

Your top six forwards have some grit in Lehtinen, Nolan and Cole. Is VERY good down the middle with Kopitar, Richards and Pahlson, and Lang in case Kopy or Richards get injured. Your bottom six speaks for itself, easily the best shutdown line in Pandolfo - Pahlsson - Grier, and being able to throw out Pahlsson-Pandolfo on one PK line and Grier - Lehtinen on the second PK is awesome!. A coach's dream! And the combination of Downie (who i really wanted:rant:) and Tootoo should be a good Sparkplug line.

Your Defense is unspectacular... Keith is obviously very good, as is Kim Johnsson (very underrated) But relying on Morrison and Poti for regular permanent Top-4 minutes seems scary. Hopefully Doughty can step up and take one of those spots (Poti's hopefully)

As for Goalie, Dipietro is very, very good, yet sometimes struggles with lingering injuries. So your best bet would be to handcuff him with a decent backup who you can confidently play 15-20 games

Yeah, Ranger is actually Murphy. Didn't realize he was taken.

Ranger would have replaced Salvador in the lineup, I guess.

So just for fun, I decided to look at every pick after my own to see if I made the "right choice". I complied them as a team to see how exactly they stacked up to my current roster. I am taking into consideration that a lot of the players drafted after me were for need, and do not necessarily represent the best player available. With that being said,
here's what I came up with:

Who I drafted - What was drafted with the next pick:

1.) Alex Ovechkin - Marty Brodeur
2.) Patrice Bergeron - Zach Parise
3.) Brent Burns - Sergei Zubov
4.) Rod Brind'Amour - Marc Staal
5.) Robyn Regehr - Manny Legace
6.) Ryan Malone - Chris Higgins
7.) Milan Lucic - Vaclav Prospal
8.) Josh Harding - Raffi Torres
9.) Brad Stuart - Kyle McLaren
10.) Steve Sullivan - Anton Stralman
11.) Jordan Leopold - Barret Jackman
12.) Erik Christensen - Blake Comeau
13.) Kris Draper - Michael Peca
14.) Kyle Chipchura - Radek Martinek
15.) Jason Smith - Ruslan Fedotenko
16.) Mathieu Garon - Greg de Vries
17.) Jeff Woywitka - Keith Carney
18.) Aaron Ward - Eric Godard
19.) Marek Malik - Patrick Rissmiller

Prospects:

1.) Kyle Beach - Brian Lee
2.) Erik Karlsson - Lars Eller
3.) Darren Helm - Brendan Smith
4.) Semen Varlamov - Riku Hulenius

So the other team would look like:

Vaclav Prospal - Zach Parise - Chris Higgins
Lars Eller - Michael Peca - Blake Comeau
Ruslan Fedotenko - XXX - Eric Godard
Patrick Rissmiller - XXX - XXX

Sergei Zubov - Marc Staal
Barret Jackman - Kyle McLaren
Anton Stralman - Greg de Vries

Depth: Brian Lee - Keith Carney - Radek Martinek

Martin Brodeur
Manny Legace

Crazy depth at goal and D. Forwards stink. Overall, I'd re-do some picks, but I'm happy with my club.
