Could be one of his guys that he told them about that they ended up liking or just doing Larionov a “favor” so that Igor keeps recommending guys to go to SJ if they’re interested in going to NA.

I don’t know if they are connected, but considering Larionov was an agent recently, Russia’s WJC coach, and also a KHL coach, it wouldn’t be surprising if they were connected somehow. I’d be shocked if SJ didn’t at least ask Larionov if he knew anything about the kid.
