L.A also has a very strong defense, and a far superior goalie.

Your offense is certainly better, but you do have a few "name value" guys that might not be as effective as they seem. (Lafreniere, Toews, Patrick, etc).

Like Norris/Milano/Crouse might not get as much respect, but are having much better seasons.

Vancouver have 6 top 4 Dmen and LA have Danny Dekeyser.

Toews is dominating faceoffs this season and knows how to win, whilst Josh Anderson is on that line also. The top line could well score 90 goals in a season., the second line just need to contribute 15-20 goals each and play solid hockey, which is very achievable.

As for goalies, Varlamov turns up in the playoffs and has both a better save percentage and GAA in his career than Andersen in playoff hockey.

that might be the most disingenuous argument I've ever heard on this forum

not only is his top four performing better than yours on the season, he has Drysdale on the bottom pairing. DeKeyser can play 16 minutes a night; it's fine.

as for toews, no one gives a hoot about faceoffs or 'intangibles' because they're both overrated.

finally, GAA is a team stat and, frankly, so is SVP to a degree as some teams just frankly give up higher quality chances than others. I'm happy to give Andersen benefit of the doubt since he's on Carolina now
