The final spot!

Rivet had 45.68% of the vote. Time to vote for number ten!

Remember:
- vote for players based on how they played for the Habs.
- I only put players who played at least one full season with the team. This means I will NOT add James Wisniewski.

1) PK Subban (47.65%)
2) Andrei Markov (94.24%)
3) Roman Hamrlik (56.96%)
4) Sheldon Souray (74.63%)
5) Patrice Brisebois (29.60%)
6) Josh Gorges (28.05%)
7) Mike Komisarek (34.83%)
8) Mark Streit (44.62%)
9) Craig Rivet (45.68%)

His shot blocking and leadership played a big role during the 2010 and 2011 season. I still think he would be a good assistant coach some day.

Bouillon played 772 for us since 2000... registered 149 points... not counting his 55 playoff games with 11 points... he scored some important goals for us, and some recent one in the last playoff, delivered big hits and made darcy tucker his *****, he fought countless time to defends his teammate and he came back with his body falling apart that one year against boston just because Gainey asked him so...

he used to be a fan favourite and a pretty decent #6 defenceman... not sure how anyone can pick spacek/gill/mab ahead of him :help:

Don't understand how Gill gets votes with Weinrich on the board.

To be fair it's best D since 2000. Weinrich played for us 1999-2000(so half the year wouldn't count) and then 2000-2001 where he was traded. He basically played a single season with us.

He doesn't really fit the time frame as Lyrical pointed out. Hell, even Robidas fits that criteria better.

He fits the time frame because he still did play games for the habs post 2000.

I don't care much about their length of stay because the poll is about "best", not about their tenure. For that reason, wisniewski is on my list too. I liked gill but he wasn't better than weinrich.... Not even close.

Wiesnewski was pretty good.

And what about Bouillon ? He could easily be #10.

As Hackett mentioned, we're talking 'best'. And Subban was voted over Markov, meaning length of peak matters less than the peak itself. Weinrich's peak, even if it amounts to one season fitting in the timeframe, was a few notches higher than Gill's.
