For the record, I was in the Hughes camp.

Nothing wrong with any of them.

If you’re looking for a defensive Dman, for team needs, you can build an argument around Ekholm.

Bouchard, I think you’re seeing a very complimentary player riding shotgun with McDrai.

Not at all, but one is not like the others. One is arguably a top 2-3 d-man in the world and a Norris winner/contender. The other two are not.

I'm honestly shocked this thread is still open. It is and should be a landslide for Hughes, and I'm not even a big fan of him.

Ekholm is a fine defenseman, nothing wrong with him
A solid #3 that can play #2 without looking out of place, and every team would take him


But Hughes is in another stratosphere

Even Ekholm's own mother would pick Hughes
