Swedish winger Simon Robertsson had a strong season in the Skelleftea system, proving that he is one to watch for the 2021 NHL Draft. Robertsson played 22 games with the SHL club, but limited ice time led to him only putting up one goal and one assist. However, he dominated in the Under-20 league. Robertsson put up nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 15 games. This led the North Division in points. He also was loaned out to lower league squad Pitea HC, where he put up two goals and an assist for three points in seven games. He also added three assists in five playoff games.

The Draft Analyst had him ranked 17th overall. I’d be curious how he felt to the 3rd round.

He’s still a teenager, plenty of growth time left.

Very true. Maybe he’ll be like Parayko and Blais and a grow a couple more inches. You never know. I read he has a good frame so he’ll definitely add more weight.

Fantastic selection, believe Bob had him at #32. Key is the team selected an asset that can develop or be traded. Shooter than plays
a 200 foot game. Hopefully he can transition to the NHL.

Holy Moly - this mock had him at #18 overall - definitely a steal. Nice work Blues

Nashville Predators: Simon Robertsson, LW (Skelleftea, SHL) — First-year draft eligibles in European elite leagues are known for scoring well below the rates of their peers in North American junior circuits, which is why Robertsson should be evaluated on his promise far more than his meager league production. He’s big, quick, aggressive and boasts an elite wrist shot. The Predators have had an issue finishing the last few seasons and Robertsson is the type of prospect who will help rectify it sooner than later.
