- started out on the lame coyotes organization which didnt help his numbers
- not a candy ass thats going to shy away when the playoffs get rough
- will be 27 next summer so has a good 4 seasons to go in his prime

* im not saying ide do this as ive not followed domi career much ,
im just wondering if others think this might be a good move

I keep harping on the Kraken board that this was a no brainer pick. He has clashed with just about every coach he's had, so there's the issue. Then again Julien inexplicable threw him on the 4th line in the playoffs without an explanation to anyone, so who knows what was going on.

Not really sure he's Stevie's type of player, but would definitely resolve the 2C issue if he can stay healthy. He came back from shoulder surgery and cracked a rib.

im not in love with domi's talent , and i think hes sort of a head case from my limited veiwings .
but im not saying give a giant contract , or that he solves our problems at center .
thing is whose our better option next season ? maybe veleno , maybe not .
but if we sign domi for say 4 years at a good price , and sign lindholm too . along with leddy ,
then we make playoffs next season and get rolling out of the basement . while hopefully
drafting wright thatll take over as #1 center by 2024/25 . but til then were in every game and
building the organization back up to a respectable force . though its not like im dead sure ide like
signing domi , im just wondering about options as ide like to be lots more competitive next season...

Hertl/Trochek for me. Pass on Domi. (vibes, inconsistency, subpar D, drama etc.)

Leddy+Lindholm+Edv+Aljo.

Run 7D, Boom, playoffs.

Leddy-Seider
Lindholm-Hronek
Edvinsson-Lindstrom/AlJo (yes I know he's LD)
AlJo/GL

Max Domi? There was a time I thought he was something special.
But truthfully, he's a replacement-level guy.
Domi's career has been plagued by inconsistent production and poor defense.

I could see Yzerman making a run at Trocheck.

Hard pass. Guy has had a problem everywhere he goes.

LHD Hampus Lindholm makes more sense if he's available.

C Tomas Hertl would be a guy if available that'd be really nice if they could sign him under 7 million per.

Signing both those guys puts the "re" and "build" out of this rebuild and we're all the sudden "building" a playoff/stanley cup contender.

Roster: 22 - 23
Tyler Bertuzzi – (C) Dylan Larkin – Lucas Raymond
Filip Zadina – Tomas Hertl – Jakub Vrana
Joe Veleno – Pius Suter – ????
Adam Erne – Michael Rasmussen – Givani Smith

* ????
* ????

Hampus Lindholm – Moritz Seider
Jordan Oesterle – Filip Hronek
Simon Edvisson – Gustav Lindstrom

* ????

Alex Nedeljkovic
????

Lots of options for 5 roster spots, essentially all depth, after signing those two UFA's who I'm not sure they'll have to break the bank for.

Domi played on a decent line in Arizona. Duclair put up decent numbers with him. He peaked his first season in Montreal and came back to reality some. Has a hard time staying healthy.

No way this happens. He's a head case who has done almost nothing the past 2 seasons. Should we bring in Drouin as well? Get that 2019 Montreal Canadiens vibe going for us?

I doubt very much Hertl comes in at under 7 million a season

Let's pay him that. Would be perfect between Vrana and Zadina.

I would trade Fabbri and sign Domi. Pretty much same player.

Then trade Domi afterwards again. Get assets assets assets.

Perfect usually doesn't come cheap
Unless of course that part of what makes it perfect

So you want to be average team forever and never bolster it with this kind of players fitting well on the team?

When we have 23M of capspace for next season.
