My hot take is that the longterm most profitable option would be for them to pay an indemnity and move to Chicago but stay in the Western conference to reach out to disgruntled Bulls fans and as a secondary rooting option for Chicagoans.

Note that in no way do I expect this will happen, nor do I think Reinsdorf would be interested even if presented a nine figure indemnity.

Yeah, but like I've said about future Hamilton and Toronto NHL teams, It makes NO SENSE for an owner to move their team there because they won't make their money back: THE SECOND OWNER is the guy who makes the money, not the first.
