Wow, 3rd tier is good Junior A and D3 players? That's pretty good. I know a guy who I played Juniors with who went on to play Czech League 2 so I was kind of hoping the 3rd Tier would be lower American Junior A caliber.

Well those guys are the best players in the league, it's highly likely Rand will get signed by a 2nd tier team next year, and there are only 2 imports per team in the 3rd tier so the depth is nowhere near that, but yeah that's how good you have to be if you want to be an import in the 3rd tier because you have to be much better than the British players.

Agree about Rand. Superb player.

Check out red #58 at 11:20. :P This is me playing in a higher league than I'm used to. Of course I have to make the puck start rolling at the blueline. [BLEEP]

I've played there a lot. I love playing there. I was back in the Bay Area at Christmas time and played in Dublin (where I grew up playing) with a group of guys I have played with for over 30 years. Most of all had our kids playing with us this year.

I suppose I should probably make a serious contribution to this thread rather than just a Zombie picture!

Me on a breakaway (Which I managed to miss in embarrassing fashion):

Looks like you UKers play in pretty well organized leagues.

A lot of the cheaper beer leagues in North America, people are wearing the wrong jerseys, non-matching hockey socks, visors, no visors, cages, fishbowls and all sorts of weird stuff like this:

I used to have a pair of gloves just like that! Except I believe they were made by Cooper or Rawlings? lol..

And I think if you're putting out the money to play in a league it wouldn't be that much more to at least have the same jerseys and socks. It's a team sport, not an individual sport!

It's just because the rules are really strict on equipment because of insurance, health and safety overload.

For example, you cannot choose to not wear a visor unless you were born in 1974 or earlier, so pretty soon everyone will be wearing visors.

There's no way you could get away with wearing gloves like that here  I certainly wouldn't allow it and I don't consider myself a strict ref.

I still see a few teams who don't all wear matching jerseys though
