FWIW he has more Vezina nominations than Carey Price and his Vezina winning season as just as good if not better than Price's.

But he didn't play his entire career in Montreal. That will be the main mitigating factor.

Honestly, you're spot on here. Playing for an O6 team/popular franchise has its perks.

He's a real case in "peak" vs "longevity" when it comes to the HoF.

Personally, i think he should be in. It's the Hall of Fame...not the "Hall of Played a huge number of games". I think he's got a shot, and given the reception his retirement ceremony had on HNIC...that bodes well for him eventually making it in. There's obviously some appreciation and momentum out there behind him.

He was so darn good at his peak. It's just a matter of having a relatively short absolute peak, and just a relatively short career in general. There's just not a whole lot of "padding" on the beginning or end of his career like some others have had.
