Should/will Miika Kiprusoff be a HHOFer?

Do you think Kiprusoff should be in the HHOF, and will he?

Was gonna do this during Kiprusoff's retirement night but forgot.

2 questions, do you personally think he should be a HHOfer, and do you think he will be get in eventually?

Remember that goalie is the hardest position to get into the HHOF. Some of the best of their generation are not in. Joseph, Vanbiesbrouck, Thomas. All have won vezina's, or were finalists multiple times to, just to name a few.

Career overview

Regular season

Wins: 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 5, 10
31st all time

SV%: 2, 3, 9, 9, 10
37th all time

GAA: 1, 1, 7
29th all time

Shutouts: 1, 3, 6
37th all time.

Playoffs
21st all time in sv%
64th all time in wins
34th all time in shutouts
41st all time in GAA

Award record
Vezina: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 8
Hart: 4,

Some of these stats don't matter much from an individual perspective, but to the HHOF they probably do.

Always liked him, but absolutely not. He might get in at some point in a weak class though.

What do you mean by that? Remember? As if it’s a known fact? I’d say it’s certainly subjective, but from a statistical perspective the proportion of HHOF members that are goalies is significantly higher than the proportion of goalies vs skaters that actually play.

Until recently, goalie odds were tough for getting in. The last couple years have really changed things though. Now it looks different.

Anyhow, I have Kpper (and some other 21st century goalies) ahead of MAF who everyone says is a lock. But I’m doubtful it’ll shake out like that.

Why would you stop at Canadian teams? Doesn't look as impressive if you include the 28 other teams in the league?

Because he only played for a Canadian team, that's why.

Honestly, i can't believe how underrated and such Kipper is here at HFBoards
i thought most would agree with me.

When he was at his prime, he was the best goalie in the world, no contest.
And this is not just coming from a Finn, this,.. i thought was general knowledge..
but i guess most don't remember, or never saw Kipper play.

If Flames had a 1C when Iggy and Kipper were at their prime
they would have won multiple Cups.

All-do-respect to C Conroy but he wasn't even 2C.

Again, why does it matter? The NHL has 32 teams now and 30 when Kipper played.

Nobody said he wasn't very good. He's just not HHOF material, especially when the bar is notoriously high for goalies. And that's honestly a good thing because the position hasn't been bastardized by having a bunch of guys who don't belong.

I’m usually not one to comment much on wins by a goalie, but it should be noted that he was 23rd all-time in Wins upon retirement.

Also, when he posted his third 40+ win season of his career, he matched Sawchuk and Plante, with Brodeur the only goalie having more at that point in time (x7).

He certainly wasn’t unimpressive
