Probably because the voters in basketball are more progressive than the conservative BBWAA. I also think that peak/prime has the bigger importance in the NBA while MLB focuses more on consistency and longevity. Tim Lincecum would have a chance at the HOF if he was an NBA player.Am I right when I say the basketball HOF is easier to get into than the HHOF?
None of these players where superstars. All stars yes, but never reached hall of fame status. None of them really set themselves apart from other really good players imo. If I were to give it to one of them it would probably be Billups because of the Finals MVP but other than that they should all be in the Hall of pretty good.

Only superstars should be in the hall of fame for this very reason. Here's the problem with putting borderline all-stars in the Hall of Fame because they happened to be on the right team at the right time...
Worthy age 21 - 31 (28404 minutes)
18 PER, .566 TS%, 52 OWS, 29.2 DWS, 81.2 WS, .137 WS/48, 2.2 OBPM, 0.0 DBPM, 2.1 BPM, 29.6 VORP
Marion age 21 - 30 (28020 minutes)
20.4 PER, .546 TS%, 52.5 OWS, 46.8 DWS, 99.3 WS, .170 WS/48, 2.4 OBPM, 1.3 DBPM, 3.7 BPM, 40.4 VORP
But because Worthy was lucky enough to have been drafted by a team that featured 2 of the top 10 players of all time, he gets to be in the Hall of Fame?
Johnson was accused of sexual assault and harassment back in 2015 so I doubt he is getting in anytime soon.
Amar'e does have 1x first team 4x 2nd team but outside of his first year in NYC his numbers tanked when he left Phoenix/Nash.
Didn't Kobe get in on his first year on the ballot?
I'm curious to see what the vote percentage was, but I couldn't find anything through a Google search
I don't think Kobe was cleared, he just settled with the victim/accuser.For one he was cleared; Johnson has not been AFAIK. His thing kind of fizzled out but it still hangs over him.
Also, Kobe had an ironclad case for the HOF and to be a first ballot inductee. There was nothing that was going to keep him out.
Agreed. Kobe was so obviously a first ballot HoFer there was no vote. For one he was cleared; Johnson has not been AFAIK. His thing kind of fizzled out but it still hangs over him.
