After only playing 3 games for Vegas (1 goal , +3) only averaging 10 minutes a night, apparently he’s been given the green light to find a new team in the NHL.

He dominated the KHL and WHC last year, had a decent World Cup, has played and clicked with Panarin before.

Should the Jackets take a look at him and potentially trade for him to close the need of a playmaking center ?

His contract is 4.5m per year for 2 years.

For the player? Sure. For the contract?Dont think it would work out with the UFAs and RFAs plus Hartnells buyout is worth 3mil next year

Term is short enough that salary wouldn't worry me. I probably wouldn't be willing to trade enough though. Would only be willing to part with Monsters (including I-71 ping-pong ball Hannikainen here) and/or picks. No way that would be enough.

I am not sure of his value in a trade. If the Jackets could get him for a pick or a prospect sure.

What would it take to get McPhee to pull the trigger?

I don't want Shipachev. Please keep your powder dry for John Tavares at the trade deadline.

Neal is the face of that franchise right now he's definitely not leaving this year unless they are 10 games out at the deadline.
