Should I try to lose muscle?

I'm a goalie and I'm not particularly tall (5'10) so I'm doing my best to change my style of play. I'm not really able to rely on desperation saves like the other goalie on my team can. I tend to play far off my line, sort of like Quick. Although I can skate decently t-pushes etc, I'm not very fast and my butterfly isn't very wide. So I should obviously keep stretching but should I try to lose leg muscle? I know it sounds weird but I have 25/26 inch thighs. If I lost fat and muscle they would shrink down pretty fast. But I'm also thinking if I do that I'll significantly decrease my leg strength.

If you are not getting paid to play hockey, then HELL NO. Keep your muscle, getting down and up on the ice .0005 seconds quicker is not worth losing muscle you worked hard to get it...especially for a beer league.
