He's being held in the AHL because of his 2-way status while we find room on the roster. I suspect something may come tomorrow as teams usually don't make moves on Sundays. Remember we've only played two games folks, be patient.

You mean waiver-status. Ship has a 1-way contract.

Calling him a bust is silly. Hasn't played an NHL game yet.

But it's even sillier that he's still assigned to the minors just to avoid the risk of waiving a nobody like Karlsson or Nosek.

Shpachyov bust?

Still too early for a bust. Maybe one day.

Oh, you mean the other kind of bust. :naughty:

Ship is new to the NHL and North America. It will take some time for his game to adjust.

Look at his numbers. He is a play maker, not a top scorer. He just needs to speed up his game in the NHL against NHL players on the smaller NHL ice.

He played in the KHL All-star game 2012, 2015, and 2016. Great potential. Just needs to readjust his game.

So... is there any indication GMGM is moving to solve this waiver-fiasco or what?

It's (almost) not funny anymore...

Needs more drive, he's much too plane. That's what happens when you don't train enough. I thought he'd be flying out there but ship just floats.
He's much too plane? :speechles That's not even grammatically correct. 'To bus' is a verb, meaning to transport.

He was bused to Chicago (not literally, but officially assigned to the AHL). That's the only story here. He is not a bust, he simply was bused to the AHL because he's waiver exempt but gets his money either way, will make the Knights, but the team just has to decide what to do with the glut of defensemen.

Bust or simply bused? I state the only story here is he was sent to the AHL team. There is no great significance to the move.

This place is almost as much fun as your Twitter guy. Becoming a fan :) Surely, they should resolve this this week right? It's possibly the strangest thing right now in the NHL.

Wow already called a bust by people.... He'll be back soon.
Excellent playmaker, but typical big ice player as in too passive and plays that slow the game down and high percentage shooting only too much style. Once he adjust to NA ice he will be a really good fit with Smith and especially Marchessault as he moves the puck really well.
Interested to see what he will be like when he finally gets into a regular season game as he looked like he was taking the preseason a little easy. Didn't dress in Chicago's 2nd game, not sure what that means

He plain and simple refused to play in the AHL.

And I can totally understand him - he’s a world class player who just won the KHL cup and dominated World Championships.

You just don’t send a player of this caliber who just came over to the NA down based on a few pre season games in favor of some absolute no names - this is a serious insult to a player promised a top six role even if it is for some waiver or trade that needs to happen. He already had to sit out two games of the season.
