Shin Pad Recommendations

Sounds good, basically they are the "cheapest" pads I've seen so far which have good reviews and come in the 18" size.

I've had a buddy go through two pairs of Bauer shin guards where they cracked in under a year. And this is lower level hockey, not a lot of contact or blocking hard slappers.

I'd check out the Reebok shins, I've been using those for a year and they are solid.

No issues so far with Bauer Vapor X40's. I like the thinner profile (skinny legs and I'm a forward) so not really blocking shots. Nice calf protection as well. Took a two hander to the calf and didn't feel it.

I haven't taken many really hard shots to them so can't really comment on the durability.
