It’s beautiful. Richter nailed it with the original nothing since has been close. Rangers are a hard team to design a mask for the shield logo is iconic but not exactly exciting. He should just wear this or a variation for the remainder of his career.

I agree with Jovo. I do miss seeing Hank’s masks every year. (Even the sparkly ones) There was also a time where both he and Vali had some awesome masks during the same season.

I really enjoyed seeing his Spidey mask. Was out of the box being that he didn’t use Lady Liberty as a main theme while still giving off a NYC (Spiderman hailing from Queens) vibe.

Not really a fan of sparkles and glitters on goalie masks but Hank's grew on me. Always loved Richter's so Shesty's new one is great.

Loved Hiller's mask while he was being supplanted by John Gibson. Simple, sharp, intimidating.

Good question. I’m sure they are around, but dwindling. I’m guessing those style helmets have gone out of favor for the new cage style.

I though Hank had some beauties. Some were a little busy, but there was a few I loved. I do agree Richter's is classic and still feels iconic in net as a '87 kid. And I agree about this Shesty one, as much as I've loved some of Hanks and his style as a goalie in general, this one is absolutely sick.

The switch to this mask is going to be in the Cup video for sure.

It’s up there, for sure. I’m inclined to say it’s very iconic. The prototype of most of the NYR goalie masks to follow through the decades borrows from Richter’s cleaner versions.

Richter’s mask single handedly became a brand of its own since it spawned off the Liberty alternate jerseys / Rangers alternate NYR logo in 1996. (I’m actually curious if Richter or his artist gets some kind of royalties for that).

I am partial to Igor’s iteration that had the Chrysler building’s eagles flanking the sides of the Richter-esque Liberty head at the very top. This one to me has come close to Richter’s original.

This, Cujo’s Leafs mask and Lalime’s Marvin the Martian mask were great. Beezer’s Panther one was pretty cool too. Worst mask goes to Brodeur hands down.
