Excellent first period. Went downhill around the point of the mid-way second period, was pretty disappointed. Still have hope, but certainly see a lot of problems on the back-end.

Phillips is done, he played good in the first but other then that he was a liability the rest of the way. Way to many giveaways.

And Paul CHRIS NEIL???? Dont be an idiot please.

Cowen played great tonight and Chiasson too ... Anderson played good but is so slow for his lateral moves.

For the rest absolutely awful specially Karlsson.

Best Sens player tonight.
Ceci.
Worst.
Toes between Phillips karlsson cowen Michalek

I actually liked zibanejad in the third period. He was terrible in the first two though.

Are you kidding, he was awesome tonight. Worst probably has to go to Legwand imo, but it's the first game so it doesn't really matter.

I don't know what it is, but the Sens still seem to fall apart after something traumatic happens. They were doing good until that stupid neal dive happened.

Phillips was excellent tonight.

I wouldn't say excellent. He was ok, which is better than usual so that's good.

Cowen, what can I say. That second goal was all him.

I think this is going to be a long season.

There were positives tonight...almost exclusively the play of young guys.

There were negatives tonight...almost exclusively the 'veterans'.

Ray Ferraro said it best - this is a team that admitted it needed to address the fact it gave up 34+ shots per game last season. They just gave up 37...to Nashville.

This team will not be in the McDavid sweepstakes, but will not be in the playoffs either.

:(
