Prospect Criteria:

A player will be considered a prospect until he meets the following criteria:

If a prospect is a skater (forward, defenseman) and has played in 65 NHL games or more before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday; or, if a goaltender has played in 45 NHL games before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday, that player will be considered graduated to the NHL. Conversely, if a player completes the season of his 24th birthday without passing those milestones, then that player will no longer be considered a prospect by Hockey’s Future, regardless of the player’s status with his NHL club.

An NCAA player who signs his first contract at or above the age of 22 has three years to meet the above criteria (65/45), while those NCAA players that turn pro under the age of 22 will be subjected to
the criteria above.

European players who sign their first NHL contract at or above the age of 22 have three seasons from the time they sign that contract to meet the above criteria. Those European players below the age of 22 that have signed a NHL contract will be subjected to the criteria in section one.

Gendron again.

Ill take someone with his skillset over Harpur pretty easily.

I think if our scouting team was making this list, Gendron would already be on it. Long term project but big upside.

Scenario. Ceci, Karlsson or Gryba go down with an injury, first call up is wideman. Wideman plays 20 games as a injury call up and stick with the team

Sure, but that only matters up to a certain point. When your guys are injured and you're looking for a fill-in, I'd assume the organization looks at who's the most ready to step up before they look at handedness.

Maybe. It might be hard for a rookie to play his off side though. Certainly wouldnt make it any easier.

First call-up would be Borowiecki. Second, probably Claesson. Aaron Johnson is more likely to get a call-up this season than Wideman, IMO.

I strongly disagree.

First off, Boro's gonna start with the team given his one way. If Ceci or Karlsson go down, Wideman is a lock to be called up to replace their skill set. He's basically a clone of Andre Benoit. He's gonna get a shot with us or another team. He can really play and contribute offensively without being a disaster defensively.

While others here have more potential for NHL careers, this guy is very close and very accomplished. He should be ahead of Lindberg, Paul, Dunn and Harpur (I'm a big Harpur guy too). No one can give any logical arguments for him to not be, they're just looking at age and very likely haven't seen any Binghamton games recently. Good chance he'll play for the big club at some point this season UNLESS Alex Grant moves ahead of him on the depth chart.
