Quotes per AG:
Coach Skeletor on the winning strategy:
“Our strategy was to really stay on the gas,” Devils coach John Hynes said. “At times in the third period we dictated the play and spent time in the offensive zone so we didn’t have to defend as much. At other times, we were too loose and we had to defend too much.”
Ginger Ninja on the win:
“You’d love to add more offense but it doesn’t always work,” goalie Cory Schneider said. “The other team makes a push, you have to be smart about it. You don’t want to play it safe and just chip in and try to defend. I thought we had balance. We made the smart plays and we were trying for offense when it was there.”
Hallsy on the beauty goal with Palms:
“I think, maybe, he could’ve went on a breakaway by himself but he maybe thought he didn’t have the gas,” Hall said. “I’m just being ready for a pass at all times and he made the play. I want to get over the blue line as soon as possible when he passes it so I’m not offside. I saw the goalie solely focused on me and so was their defender. I just had to pass it through his triangle. Some guys would quit on the play after making the pass on a two-on-one but Kyle followed it up going to the net and that’s huge.”
Palms on the game winner:
Palmieri said he never expected to get the puck back from Hall.
“Not really,” Palmieri said. “The other d-man came pretty far over to me. Once I saw it got through to Hallsie, I thought he had a pretty good shot at the goalie. He froze the goalie and I didn’t have to do much, which is always a nice thing.”
Please, for the love of god, WIN!!!!!!!!!!!
PLAY. ****ING. HARDER.
