Chychrun: “It’s a f***ing joke! It’s a f***ing joke!”

Lol.

I’m not that great a lip reader.
Not to mention typos!

Sometimes I think we are close to being a good team and sometimes I feel like we are getting worse.
We are worse; down 2 top 6 Fs.

JBD and Brannstrom the PK net front specialists
Those two need to play elsewhere next season.

That looked offside
Mighty close and not a single mention of it by the astute broadcasting duo! What the hell were they doing during that entry? Probably drinking the Koolaid!

I dig that the lacrosse team's logo has the Sens "O" in it, but why does the bear need to be holding a lacrosse stick? So on the nose lol.
Why name them "Black Bears"? Is there not a name with an Ottawa link such as Loggers that could have been used?

Did the NHL not change that rule recently, last year maybe, to say that skate blade no longer needs to be on the ice, it's more like football's breaking the plane rule? Could be wrong, but I seem to recall that change....
It might have been offside; however, I did not see any camera reviews by the elite broadcasting team covering the game for us, nor any comment by our eagle-eyed broadcasting announcers.

Hit the showers Tkachuk you loser. Bruins have you right where they want you
Tkachuk needs to mature just like Stutzle, Pinto and the other young players. We need more vets like Giroux, but younger, to fix some of what ails this team. First round draft picks will help.

Good morning, everyone. Many of you know me a little bit, so you know I have a soft spot for the Sens and come here with good intentions.

There is nothing I can say about the Senators that you haven't said yourselves, so I'll keep this short. I'm looking forward to the day when the Senators are contending for the Stanley Cup, and I'd love to see them win it all. Keep the faith. I'm hoping the new ownership will get it turned around sooner rather than later.

Good luck, guys and gals. See you in a few weeks.

Keep dreaming lol we suck!

We've wasted 3 recent high first round picks on debrincat, chychrun and Tyler Boucher, not to mention we have to forfeit another 1st round pick (likely high as well) for the dadonov situation.

With likely 4 high picks wasted, we likely don't have the young capital worth today to actually build an eventual Stanley Cup winner.

And we won't be gaining assets if we're trying to compete right now.

We almost have to sell off everything and hope to get a bunch of high end picks and prospects to restart the rebuild and not f*** it up midway through.

Likely going to be a lot of pain and suffering before we become legitimate cup contenders (like a top 3 team)

He’s a free agent in 2025-26, so I guess we are not talking about the free agency route.

I’d think Nashville will want at least one good asset in a trade, and that asset would give us some discomfort to lose.

I was just joking mate.

Oh for sure. Frustration comment I had made but hey I'm allowed to as a fan LOL.

The athletes I feel shouldn't be constantly showing the negative body language for the cameras to pick up. If Tkachuk tries to get under the opponents skin to draw penalties or whatever I totally respect that. Just do it when the games on the line not with 2 minutes left in a blow out and it doesn't matter at that point.

He does it all the time and its getting to be a bad look. Stutzle is just in a different world as far as portraying bad body language. Every time the camera shows him on the bench his head is down or he is shaking his head. When the goalie makes a save on him he is looking at the sky shaking his head. No confidence for most of the season in so many of those guys. Got to get over things quicker and move on. Think what Mustache MacLean used to say: "frustration is a useless emotion"

I think the budget is a factor here. There is not much sense in spending more $$$ when the season is lost; might as well keep costs down and save $$$ for next season. That's the only rationale I can think of.
I'd rather they set a standard of play for the culture but totally get what you're saying. Might hinder guys like Greig and Ostapchuks development too.

Anyone see that stare Stutzle gave to Korpi after Pastrnak scored his hat trick goal?

True, maybe I'm wrong at him staring Korpi down, but he looked completely defeated. Not the first time he's had that look.
If I were any of them I’d fee completely broken down each time we fell behind by a few goals.
Not at first. You know you come in all pumped and excited and optimistic. Even at the beginning of each game you can flush the past and come in fresh but then game after game year after year it happens? We’re talking hundreds of games. That’s frustrating and depressing.

What's with your persistent hate on Jacques? Did he f*** your ex wife before she left you or something? You're probably about the same age right

J Martin 2.0 is not getting the job done….. swing and a miss by the GM…. Should have done what it takes to bring in Berube or someone like him, with 57 games left in the season…. The Senators are no further ahead now than they were in December….

He did until the end of the second, again. Two games in a row. There was an extended time frame where Boston couldn’t muster a shot and it looked like Ottawa had all the momentum.

The problem with activating the Ostapchuks and Katchouks of the world when we lose a Tarasenko and Norris level talent is that Coach Martin will lean too heavily on our top forwards as a result. They get fatigued and start skating uphill as the game wears on, and our minor league depth is incapable of playing up to the level of a Boston or Carolina.

This roster stinks.

You make some good points

It's a good point - the bottom end of the Senators roster is really poor, and it's been this way for a long time. Even in the Karlsson years the team's depth was the drizzling shits, but nowadays we no longer have any elite talent to compensate for that.

What Boston were able to do for their depth last summer is pretty remarkable, but nobody is talking about it. They added Morgan Geekie, James Van Riemsdyk, Jesper Boqvist, Danton Heinen and Kevin Shattenkirk. That group has given them 136 points this season for a combined cap charge of 5.6M. That's basically what the Sens are paying for their big UFA additions of Korpisalo, Hamonic and MacEwen. Nice.
