Well, after loosing Zherdev, it seems Team Russia could miss Alexander Semin. According to Sport-Express (http://www.sport-express.ru/art.shtml?79311), coach Ishmatov was unsatisfied with Semin behavior and the latter could leave the Russian team.

Semin is not the prefered Ishmatov's player. Wasn't he invited to the WJC camp last year?

I can't see Semin leaving. I hope he does, for Canada's sake, but I'd still love to watch him play. Besides, he flew all the way over...
I predict: he stays but gets limited ice.

This could be a big blow to the Russians. However, they stilll do have a great offence though without him.

  4. I think the coach changed his mind and Semin is going to stay with the team. He must have realized that his team would be dealt a severe blow by cutting Semin (yeah that sounds so wrong lol).

That is good news for Russia. If the coach had ejected Semin, their locker room would be a mess. Let the games begin!

He must be real likeable if all the players asked the mighty, scary Russian coach to let him come back and play. I think he's going to be a huge factor in this tourny..he may even take top forward awards if he plays like he has in Washington..However Eminger's agme feel off last year after playing in the NHL and then to the WJC's..He was good but unnoticeable some people said.

-That's between me and the coach and not be commented here. It may have interfered with my preparation but you shouldn't be paying attention to it.

That's from the horse's mouth after I pressed Semin on the subject.
