season start and end dates for every pro league on earth

Ive tried diggging around for this information online but not sure im getting accurate info. Some leagues start in Oct and go trhu April, whereas some leagues in Europe/Russia seem to start their games the first week in September (which seems weird to me)

Hoping this could be a thread where people can verify season start and end dates for any NA and Euro Leagues they know of.. bonus points if you know how early before season players are expected to report for training camp.

National League (Switzerland): Started this year at 7th of September, ends at 29th of April (assuming a four game final).

Any idea why so early? That's tail end of summer let alone true winter a couple months out

Most European leagues start around that time of the year. There are two breaks during the season for international games, one for the Spengler Cup, and the World Championships are held in May, so September is a pretty reasonable time to start. Champions Hockey League starts it's group games in the middle of August.

Nothing better than having a day in the sun at the lake and finish it off at the rink.
