Overall the Flames D played well considering the circumstances and injuries especially to Mark Giordano who missed 18 games. Dennis Wideman missed nearly half the season with 36 games.

Kris Russell also missed 14 games with injuries.

It's one area the Flames have to address in the offseason by adding a solid top 4 defenseman.

Could have been a lot different year for the Flames had it not been for all these injuries on D alone.
