Working on a pretty rad stomach ache and stumbled upon this on YouTube.

Blaine Lacher’s debut.

The broadcast hilighted some of the question marks in front of him on D.

I remember going to a couple of games in ‘95 and the tickets having the original opponent crossed out in pen and the new one written in because of the lockout.

Not the greatest audio, but great to hear Bob Wilsons voice.

I fondly remember going out with my friends and if drove and there was a Bs game on, it was Bob Wilson time.

They hated it, but f*** them.

I watched this same video a few months back, may have mentioned it in the off-topic thread or some other Around the NHL thread. 1995 was the year I started watching hockey, but I was like 8 so I didn't have a sophisticated understanding of the game or anything.

The two things that really jumped out to me:

1. It was still a very loose structure to play. There wasn't any real systematic positioning, forwards just kind of carried the puck wherever they wanted and skated east-west as much as north-south.
2. Blaine Lacher was the last true stand-up goalie to wear the Spoked B. More than anything, watching him play goal in this game captivated me. It's so absolutely antiquated, a clear marker of a different time.
