its a minor thing. It'll get fixed so lets drop the idea that the goalie is just gonna say See ya and sign somewhere else.

Typo error maybe? If it goes $6.8 mil in 23-24 and then $7.5 mil in 24-25, it’s a legal backloaded contract.

nah, the $1.5m increase between 22/23 and 23/24(when it goes from 6m to 7.5m) is more than 25% of the salary of the first year of the contract(5m)

it's a limit on how fast the salary in contracts can escalate based on what the first year salary is

edit: oh you meant typo by the Hurricanes thought you meant a typo in the CapFriendly explanation

not sure if making a typo on a $35 million contract and not catching it is better or worse than it being a different sort of mistake, that would be pretty rough too

July 1st, July 28th in this case, is a chaotic day. Both sides are in rush to get the contract done and move on to other business. A small error like that slipping through cracks is not great, but understandable.

If it's not knowing the rules, that's truly befuddling. That explanation implies that the agents missed something major like that too. The variability rules have been around for a while.

Let's summarize it:

Horrible/bad name
Ugly ass logo
Awful ED
Bad draft (picked someone 34th overall that was ranked 192th overall, and he was an overager)

And now this.

Could they have had a worse start than this?

Quick reminder that Seattle lost out on a pair of 2nd round picks by taking Vanecek instead of Dillon from Washington. If they're not even going to ice Vanecek, score another one for Ron Francis and his disastrous expansion.

Well unless they have a time machine they could not assume they would be signing Grub. They were able to select a decent D core and with the frozen cap expecting to trade whoever you want is a foolish move.

By far one of the best practical names.
Logo is above average comparatively
Awful ED
Below Average Draft

You forgot:

"Climate Pledge Arena"

Should have been named Seattle Soyboys

haha totally man, nothing manly about caring about the environment at all. Soyboys LOL hilarious, I wish we could go back to 2018 Fortnite so I could relive more of these epic memes.
