Because with a smart summer and a bit of luck they are a playoff team next year.Shouldn't Seattle be selling?
They are not a playoff team why keep a mid 30s vet?
He’s got two young kids, It’s possible he wants to set some roots for the next couple years rather than shuttle off for the next few months. Is he asking for an 8-year extension?
He should be traded, and if Seattle believes he can be a contributing piece in the years to come, they can re-sign him as a UFA this summer
It's a business... the Kraken should be focused on asset management, not securing Eberle's nomination for Father Of The YearHe’s got two young kids, It’s possible he wants to set some roots for the next couple years rather than shuttle off for the next few months.
"You'd better take this massive overpayment or else!"They must have threatened to send him back to EDM
The business side of hockey put a 16-team NTC in his contract, if he was set on staying put and extending then it’s possible he nixed the option for a trade. It's a business... the Kraken should be focused on asset management, not securing Eberle's nomination for Father Of The Year
I'm sure his family can travel with him to his new team, or survive just fine for a few months while he's gone
AgreedSeattle is trying to buy time while they fill up the prospect ranks some more and allow those prospects to grow at their own pace. I don't see the issue with this.
They see him as a leader in the locker room. From what i've heard he's been mentoring Shane Wright, Beniers etc in the off season. So probably a bridge until more prospects come through.Shouldn't Seattle be selling?
