Lots riding on this scheduled loss game. Hitting .500 before Christmas the “Holidays”. Skinner not shitting the bed making key stops. Contributions from the top of the lineup to the bottom including Brown Erne. The defence not backing into the Zamboni gates holding the line causing transitory turnovers. Special teams not sucking being special.

The Rangers are among the leagues elite riding their Russian goalie to the top of the East’s standings. We haven’t had much luck against Russian goalies but it’s high time we Javelin their Russian goalies ass.

It would be a great Christmas “Holiday” present to come home with 4 points and at .500 as making the playoffs this year means squeezing every point we can out of each remaining game.

Hopefully Ryan and Gagner can go tonight otherwise it’s playing a forward short AND Brown coming back infecting the lineup with his zombie like nothingness.

Either way the boys need to follow up the win vs the Devils with a win vs the Rangers for a peaceful and joyful Christmas “Holiday” break on HFOil or the rage posters will ruin it for everyone including little Timmy.

Understated, even this season, is the ability of this club to come in and play a solid game and kick even quality clubs right in the teeth. Been several games like this where the Oilers absolutely dominated.

In 6/8 GP this month the Oilers have absolutely dominated every facet of play. We beat Jersey twice doing this, Stamped on the Canes, Beat the Wild, Chicago and should have won the Tampa game.

The mostly horrid goaltending is masking how well the Oilers are playing. In the whole KK stretch only two or three games where the Oilers haven't played well enough. Indeed goaltending sinking the club so much that we don't even get loser pts out of it. In our division Seattle has 9 loser pts, Calgary and Vegas have 5 each, La has 4, we have 1. That alone is the kind of thing that puts us where we are in standings. If we even have an average amount of loser pts we are in a WC spot.
