This one’s tough. I went Merkley and hope he dominates this year. If he does, his potential makes him better than any other prospect not named Eklund. Still has lots to prove though.

Since Dahlen is all but assured to be on the opening night roster I'm putting him at 3#. I've got some pretty low expectations considering the league highlights we watched but he's got 'extra room' as of late to slide up the line up. I wouldn't be surprised if Leo hung out in the A while he did some figuring out.

I have to think about this one. We are now in "chance of making the nhl" vs "chance of being an impact player"

Merkley is still so frickin young. You'd think he's like 23-24, but hes 21 on Aug 14th. Still so much time to develop into a real stud. I voted him here because I think with another yr in the AHL he'll be one season closer to being a real impact prospect.

I used 40 NHL games as the threshold for prospect status. Leonard played 44 last year.
Gotcha. I guess I assumed 50 would be the cutoff since that's what it is for the calder. At least I think that's what it is? Or is it 25? Can't remember now...

I still have faith in Merks. A bad year doesn’t ruin a player
You must not have watched the year then... It's not impossible that he turns out but that was about as bad a performance from a supposedly high end prospect as I can imagine someone having.

It's ether Merkley or Ozzy. Went with Merkley because his potential is tantalizing if he can figure it out.

I don’t consider Eklund a C prospect as much as the Sharks want him to be and Bordeleau is the only good one. Outside of him who’s the next best one? Spiridonov?

Chmelevski, probably, then Spiridonov.
