Darnold has almost everything you'd want in physical attributes from a NFL QB. Just a question of does he have what it takes between the ears. But with good coaching and a decent offense I wouldn't be surprised to see him play fairly well. Never going to be a top QB obviously but if Geno Smith can have a breakout late in his career then so can Darnold in the right situation.

Darnold must also be thinking man, what would have been had Jimmy didn’t get moved to SF but to another team back then? At that point before the deadline SF was tracking for the top pick in the draft. Then when Jimmy was ready to ate onto the field SF won their final 4-5 games pushing them out of the top couple of picks and ultimately taking Mcglinchy.

How would his career had been had he landed in SF vs the dysfunctional Jets and then onto Carolina? He had his issues. Not a great throwing motion. Careless with the ball.

If Lance is still on the roster he’ll start if Purdy isn’t ready to go come opening day. If they trade Lance he’ll be a short-term starter if Purdy needs longer to heal.

They have 11 draft picks mostly day 3 ones. Expect them to draft a QB as well to place on the PS. But they should keep 3 active QBs on the 53 man roster. It wasn’t just Jimmy who has been hurt during shanahan’s run as HC.

When the other 3 teams in the championship started their 1st stringers and your 3rd and 4th get hurt, it probably isn’t just a luck thing. Blocking schemes definitely need improving. The play Purdy got hurt on was rather indefensible.

Long developing play. Poor personnel matchup for SF. If the play was going to take that long to execute needed to replace the blocking TE with a backup OL instead.
