There isn't much of a trade to be made for him. He's too unique. The only Panthers player Calgary would legitimately consider moving him for on Florida's roster is Barkov, but Florida wouldn't make that trade.
EDIT: Well, Trochek too, but same deal.
Basically in terms of value to Calgary, factoring in team needs and cap hits you have
Florida's Untouchables
Sam Bennett
The rest of Florida's roster
Some of the takes here are yikes

This is awful. My god at some of these proposals coming from Flames fans ITTI would move Bennett for Borgstrom and Tippett. But I don’t think I’d bite on anything else.

Maybe do slightly more then just watch the flames then so you don’t embarrass yourself with terrible trade proposals. That trade is easily one of the worst ever. A 2nd pairing defenseman as the main piece for Barkov. Lmao.
What? Who is embarassing themselves exactly? Because based on the bolded it sounds like you are. There is no definition on the planet that has Brodie as anything but a top pairing defenseman.
Don't the Panthers need another top 4dman? Brodie is easily a #2/#3, I did ask if it was close and added two additional add ons. Sorry to disappoint I don't know time leagues trade ratings, I am not a GM and neither are you. That is all.
Just going off this post.
But then again, you mentioned Barkov in the same sentence as Bennett in a trade thread.
3 pages in and not a single proposal from a Panther fan that brings Bennett to FLA lol. How is anybody supposed to have an idea of what might be available if no one offers anything? Borgstrom, Tippett I like those names. I don't expect there would be two premium pieces but at least one with a nice sweetner would be the bare minimum. Flames don't really have a lot of reason to move on from Bennett. Young, cheap, capable depth that brings elements the rest of the forwards are lacking. Still has potential to become more than he is.
FLA fans arent offering because we dont need more bottom 6 wingers. We just traded two of them at the deadline in McCann and Bjugstad.
Still unsure why the FLA fan/OP is chasing Bennett. No need for him. We need a goalie and defense first.
My god you are so out of touch it’s mind numbing.A #2 / #3 defenseman. That's not a second pair defenseman. That refers to a player who's either able to play top pair effectively, or on a very strong blueline able to drive a second pair as the superior partner. Both of which Brodie has done. In fact in 2015-16 he was Calgary's clear #1 though his play has slipped a little since then due to the league getting so much faster. But Brodie is a top pair D by every definition. He just gets a bad rap because he was completely misutilized for a two year period under a bad coach.
Unless Florida wants to part with Barkov or Trochek, or on a very slight off chance Calgary has interest in completely restructuring their blueline around 7.5M Ekblad, there is nothing Florida can offer that makes sense for the Calgary Flames to trade Bennett.
Unless you have a rebuttal to the bolded, you're just being pedantic. And no, Huberdeau doesn't make sense given Calgary's roster. Great player, but when you're paid 6+ M dollars the team needs to be able to play you on 1st unit special teams without taking another 6+ M dollar player off those special teams. You can't magically poof capspace into existance. You gotta use it wisely.
Fair enough, that makes sense. Bennett hasn't been great so far in his career but he also hasn't got a ton of opportunity. Stuck behind Monahan and Backlund at center and behind Gaudreau and Tkachuk at left wing. Though his point totals don't reflect it he has been much better this year than the last two. He has been stuck with mostly trash on the third or fourth lines. I don't know if he'll ever live up to his billing as a #4 overall but it's hard to when you don't get the ice or linemates, not that his play has really warranted a promotion either though. He's still a good candidate to progress in his career.
Brodie + Bennett for Barkov
The 3 B trade
Close?
Add 2nd in 20 from Flames for 750K retained a year on Barkov?
Add a conditional 4th if Brodie resigns ?
Of course you would, FLA wouldn't though. Borgstrom would be on a 14g/30pt pace if he played the full year. He may not be as strong defensively as Bennett but that gap isnt a potential 20-25 goal winger in Tippett.
Borgstrom is also a rookie. Bennett has 4 years in the league.
Personally feel Tippett has a 30 goal caliber shot.
If he can continue to be a defensive winger while putting up 30-35pts then he's still very useful. He can probably play some top 6 in a pinch if injuries in playoffs happen. It'd be more worrisome if he was on some huge deal and not producing. Every player goes through their own path, will keep an eye on him when watching your playoff games this year. Strome was struggling a bit in ARI and now shining bright in CHI. All up to him whether he can take the next step and push his way into a better role. For now, he seems to be doing well on the 3rd line.
We had a similar pick in Crouse who was traded too early imo, but Bolland's bloated deal was attached. Crouse is slowly becoming a solid 3rd line winger but still young enough like Bennett to become a late bloomer/2nd line winger.
If you had watched any Flames games, than you would know that your post about Sam Bennett is wrong. And who the **** said "it is your fault", you are a nobody, you are not in the Flames organization, you probably don't even live in Calgary, so why the **** are you saying that "it is not your fault?"
