Love the kid but the Jets are solid. Don’t see him making squad. Having said that, not sure what more he can prove playing in the OHL

He’s free cap space for a time where the Jets will be competitive. He can easily replace someone like Perrault or an aging Statsny and save the jets like 4-6 mill to spend on other needs. They’re going to give him every chance to make the team. There’s also plenty there for him to thrive on. The jets aren’t a trash team that will be a black hole for prospects to be thrown into. If it was the Sabres or Wings, yeah, send him back. Don’t let him near the NHL yet but he should be fine on the Jets.

So what does that leave us with? If he is gone then that would pretty much be all our top scorers from last year gone.

Spirit sign 1st rounder Luke McNamara. Meaning soon enough Bird Fan will show up and complain his apartment is bigger than thiers.

I could see the Jets holding on to him for 9 games like Florida did with Owen Tipett (I believe their rookie contract kicks in after 10 games). Remember Cole's only two options are the Jets or the Spirit.

1 apartment down 3 to go.
My point is this, for those who think DD is a good GM he is not. The ownership group is throwing money at players to get them to come to Saginaw.
Fact.

Throwing money? ... prove it! Don't you have your own sandbox to play in?
So you want the entire ohl community to believe that top kids from Canada and the USA woke up one morning 3 to 5 years ago and said let’s De-Commit to top NCAA programs and go to Saginaw.
Didn’t happen and if you think it did you are delusional.
First example # 91

ok let’s play devils advocate for one second then. Go tell Rolf to stop being a cheap ahole so you can even the playing field. Congratulations. your owner is a penny pincher that obviously doesn’t care about getting all the top talent he can. Enjoy your high ground in whatever reality you perceive. Now go bother your own fan base. I’m sure they don’t miss you but you’ll never know if you don’t go back and find out.

Anyone can top talent, if you pay for it. DD couldn’t manage a house league team. He is a puppet. Doing all the dirty work for a pay cheque. Sad really.

If Cole Perfetti were to have gone to Michigan, where would he have played for 2 years? A lower level B league in Canada or the USHL... where, in both cases with all his talent he would have regressed. That proves how dumb you are. He was a sure fire NHL talent, scoring 74 points his rookie season in Saginaw, he never needed Michigan.

Let's go though these decomits.

First Jenkins. Who got 4th line minutes and was in the dog house at the USDTP. Saginaw got him to come because they had top 6 minutes available in his draft year.

Wilde who came to the OHL due to issues with eligibility in the NCAA. He said himself he never intended on coming to Saginaw.

Codd? Whose dad is golfing buddies with members of the Spirit ownership group? Why would he ever want his kid to play here if he wasnt getting paid. Sarcasm implied.

Mitchell Smith? Who grew up and lives 10 miles from the Dow? That ones shocking too.

Perfetti? Whose dad told OHL teams they would gladly go the OHL route if a team could show that they were the best route for Coles development? Who billets OHL players themselves? Noone was surprised that Cole didnt go NCAA. It was a smokescreen to avoid certain teams. If Flint had picked him he may have followed through on it.

Or you talking Turcotte, Duke, Fantilli, Pastujov, our 2nd rounder last year whose name I forget, all the high end talent that has never stepped foot in Saginaw? But you don't bring them up because it doesnt fit your argument.

Saginaw has developed into a solid choice for any prospect. Look at Prosvetov, Middleton, Coskey, Jenkins, Wilde, Millman, McLeod, Tippett, Perfetti, Busdeker, Suzuki and Giroux. Some came through draft others traded for. Regardless Saginaw has been a more desired club for high end talent. Drafting plenty of Americans keep up the good work DD.

Ok looks like we have had a few signings …great to see.

Is anyone brave enough to take a crack at our lineup for next year?

Saginaw signed U-18 1st rounder Mangone this morning. Another player for the roster next season at least part time as hes also signed to a JR A/B team for next season.

Lineups currently with a worst case scenario of no Perfetti, Millman, any surprise NCAA signings could be something like:

Bloom-Duhart-Codd
Baber-Beck-McNamara
Klein-Mangone

Mancini-Smith
Mintyukov-Schueting
Savard

Lennox
Oke

Still need 5 forwards and at least 2 dmen. Have one open OA spot and an early import spot to fill 2 of those holes. Still some work to do especially up front. Drinkill better be working Mintyukov/Prosvetov/Soloyvov's agent and see if he has any more gems we can pick up
