You just had to sing that song, now its stuck in my head.HOT DOG HOT DOG HOT DIGGITY DOG
Imma buy 4 Dahlin jerseys now
11.5 would have been fair for 8 years with the cap increases and salary inflation, just like the NFL and NBA.
We got a bit of a discount.
Seems the Cozens and Thompson deals are team friendly. This one, not so muchyou bump your head putting on your helmet?
It will shake out anywhere between 76-80 mil, depending on if they keep Girgensons, and what the new contracts are for Mitts and Power.ok. Im glad its done. We might actually be a cap team next year with Powers extension.
Get Power on a similar deal to Sanderson ... then you have cost certainty for your important pieces moving forward.Considering the original deal was 5 x 10.5, 8 x 11 is fantastic.
Sabres are in a good place for the rest of the decade.
Now Power.
I’d love to see that for Power. Just not sure his camp would do it.Get Power on a similar deal to Sanderson ... then you have cost certainty for your important pieces moving forward.
So I put this in the UFA post, but something to consider is that they were buying up all but 1 year of UFA of the 8 years.Seems the Cozens and Thompson deals are team friendly. This one, not so much
Power's deal will be the real challenge. You want 8 years, but the sample size is too small for his side to argue a massive pay day.I’d love to see that for Power. Just not sure his camp would do it.
Is the base salary of $11 M x 8 years correct? Rasmus Dahlin Contract, Cap Hit, Salary and Stats - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps
If so, Sabres missed out on an opportunity to lower the cap by paying more money up front and chose not to do that. Without question, Dahlin would want more money upfront.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he has signed. But there is a missed opportunity here. I'm sure I will get yelled at over this, but the time value of money does make the contract worth more if paid up front.
Now, if the Cap Friendly info is just a placeholder, this is 100% wrong.
How the contract is paid out matters in a big way.
Yes, bottom line — a relief.

Yup. I was hoping for around 10.5M, so I'm a happy camper.Awesome to wake up to.
The 8 year number was the one that mattered.
I would not be upset with a 3 year bridge deal and a 7-8 year deal after.Power's deal will be the real challenge. You want 8 years, but the sample size is too small for his side to argue a massive pay day.
This is where Kevyn and co. can show some acumen.
