But this is a god-awful proposal for the Flames. Why on earth would Calgary send us a 1st round pick for our trash PLUS Hanifin.

Olofsson and a 3rd isn't anywhere close to first round value, even if we retain 50% of his contract.
Bryson probably has zero value around the league.

Hell, Calgary likely doesn't even consider the deal if you take their first round pick out. Hanifin non-extended is worth a 1st plus something. Hanifin extended is worth a 1st plus something nice.

If you swap Owen Power into the proposal in place of Bryson the value will be closer, but still a non-starter.

As to your trade proposal, it's really bad. Honestly sounds like a Joe DiBiase special, right @Ace ?

If you swapped the draft picks in the deal (we send the 1st to Calgary, email we get the 3rd) they might not immediately hang up on you.
