Montreal could use another LHD capable of playing top 4 mins and have been craving a legit power forward for quite sometime.

Not only that, but Columbus could be looking at shedding some salary this offseason and have already been rumoured to be shopping Anderson and with Murray’s injury history, I could see them potentially being open to the idea.

thinking Mete would have to go if we got Murray since we would also have chiarot and Romanov on the left side, but would obviously have to add more.

Thoughts?

Why would Columbus be looking to shed salary? They have tons of space ....

Caufiield for both? No idea what would make sense for both teams. 2nd and Brook for Andersson. Murray for 1st 2021 lottery protected? Maybe Pohling, Brook and 2021 1st for Both?

Those seem like risky players for Montreal, no? They are attractive if the price is right enough to offset the injury risk factor, but should Montreal really be in a position to take the risk? Or should Columbus sell relatively low on these players just due to recent health issues? I wouldn't be trading 1sts or recent top picks from a rebuilding team for them anyway. And Columbus has no incentive to give them up for less. Seems like a stalemate to me. :dunno:

Josh Anderson has to be the most controversial player. He played and produced like a 4th liner but will be paid like a top-6 forward based on past merits.

Opposing fans will propose crap deals based on his down season. CBJ fans will ask for unrealistic returns by ignoring his past season. There is little middle ground.

the best offer might be Joel Armia

The Jackets basically have one significant hole to be filled through trades. Montreal has the capability to do so, but I don't know if they have the desire.

It’s very difficult to get a read on the value of both of these players. Murray is easily one of Columbus’s 3 best defensemen, when healthy. Only Werenski and Jones are likely better defensemen. Anderson is one of their best wings, with only Atkinson, Nyquist, and Bjorkstrand as the players that we could argue are better. Any trade of either of them right now that isn’t for a top 6 forward feels like selling low.
