I find it rather absurd that there is no thread about Maxim Mamin, while he has not only already debuted in the NHL, but already played 18 games and scored 2 goals and looks like he might be there to stay. Hope that Panthers fans (or anyone else, who gets to watch them) can provide more input about his game in this thread.

Panther fans are thrilled with his early success. Although it hasn't shown in the goals and assists stats he has been part of our recent successful run.. Someone else i am sure has the Panthers record with him in the lineup.. He has shown strong hands and puck possession and the ability to push the play into the opposing teams zone. perfect 3rd and 4th line large skilled forward with size.. great pick so far.

Strong kid with huge compete level. Never takes shift off. If he can his offensive and defensive potential he is going to be good one.

He looked good in Florida on the 2nd half, just everytime he got a chance to play.

Does he have offensive upside... at 15-20G he’d be a fantastic role player

Anyone know what the heck happened to Maxim Mamin? In 2017 he put up some decent numbers in the AHL and was called up for a few games with Florida and put up a couple points. At the start of this season he played 7 games with Florida and then was put on loan to CSKA Moscow and played like 25 games with them and since has... disappeared? Has he been benched? Did he get an injury.. what the heck is going on with this guy, anyone know?

CSKA are main favorites to win Gagarin Cup in KHL. They play in 1/4 now, sweeped their first round opponent.

Going into this season, I think the majority of people thought he would be a regular in the bottom 6, but for whatever reason he fell out of favour with Boughner and ended up being a healthy scratch more times than not. He was sent to AHL, where he didn't play a game, then was loaned back to the KHL, where like you said, he has been non-existant. He's an RFA at season's end...wouldn't surprise me if the Panthers just didn't tender him. Definitely an odd situation though because he looked super promising going into this year and then just kind of got lost in the shuffle.
