67 games played- 33 goals, 47 assists, 80 points

More than doubled his production from last season and almost up 4x from draft year.

Always noted as a defensive, 2 way guy, he has completely broken out offensively. Gunna be a good player

What are some thoughts from CHL watchers on him> Late round gem?

Time for a bump. 5 years later.

Slow developer, i think finally, a good pro player.
- maybe worth NHL contract after this season,
has nicely developed past 2, 3 seasons

After he turned pro in 2015, its been tough for him.
Really wasn't given a true chance in the AHL
thou really wasn't doing that well there either.

Had a promising ECHL 18-19 season, finished 2nd in points
for his team Florida Everblades, and finished 4th in goals, was a ppg.

Had a lucky break when got a Sm-Liiga contract, for KooKoo
and got himself under amazing coach; Jussi Ahokas (WJC & U18 World champion coach)

His first season was a strong one but his second season has been an eye opener
4 goals and 12 points in 12 games. - i have really liked how he has played, outside his points,
really like his game last season too, althou,..there were few unpolished things in his game
which seems to be been "polished"

KooKoo top 6 in points this season

1. Trevor Mingoia - 6+8=14, +4
2. Kyle Platzer - 4+8=12, +2
3. Kasper Björqvist - 5+5=10, +7
4. Ahti Oksanen 5+4=10, +2
5. Vilmos Gallo 5+4=9, +2
6. Joonas Oden 4+3=7, +3

Jussi has done amazing things - both with the Finnish junior program and in Liiga.

But it seems the success of players like Mingoia and Platzer speaks more to the watered down level of talent in Liiga than it does to Platzer's potential as an NHL prospect.

Interesting. He was always a prospect I had a ton of intrigue. He was buried in London and when he went to a new OHL team in his final year, he really popped off. At the time it was unknown whether it was a lucky season or if he was a good prospect just buried down the depth chart on a stacked team. His pro career has been solid (slow start but came on strong last 3 years)

Maybe hell get a shot in the NHL down the road for a few games
